CANES TO PLAY SAINT MARY'S
The Canes' men's basketball team is headed to Clinton Country as they will play Saint Mary's at Little Rock, Ark., on Friday.
It will be the Canes' first NCAA Tournament appearance in 6 years. They will face the Gaels, a team from the Bay Area in California.
If the Canes win that - and they will be favored - they will face Texas. That would be a great matchup with Canes Coach Frank Haith facing his former boss Rick Barnes.
Meanwhile, the Canes baseball team got ripped on Sunday. Since the Canes had a plane to catch Sunday night at 7 pm, there was a pregame agreement that no inning would start after 4:30.
But with the Canes leading after 7 innings at 4:33, the 8th inning was started. The Canes started the 8th with a two-run lead but gave up a three-run homer to lose the game. Shocking loss that should never have happened if they followed the agreed-upon rules.
The Canes' baseball team, however, is too good. They will recover. And they still won the series two games to one to improve to 13-2.
