Basketball, Baseball, Football
Overall, Miami is looking great in Basketball, heating up down the stretch and when its most important. The stacked Miami Baseball team is looking strong early beating a talented Cinncinatti team which was ranked 4th last year in stolen bases and finished with a .500 record. The football team is starting spring practice tuesday in shorts and helmets. Spring game will be March 29th at Lockhart Stadium.
GO CANES!!!

The Hurricanes basketball team beat Maryland Saturday extending their win streak to 4 games, all in the ACC. The Maryland game showed real maturity from the young team after the huge upset of #4 Duke on Wednesday. If Miami can atleast split the next 4 games, two of which are at home and 3 against the bottom teams in the ACC, Miami will have a strong case for a NCAA tournament bid. Miami's next game is Saturday at Clemson. Miami defeated a then ranked #25 Clemson at home earlier in the season. Frank Haith will be chasing his 20th win of the season.
Now for Baseball
Miami clinched their opening game and series against Cinncinatti Friday and Saturday night. Eric Erikson got his first win in his first start Friday night in a 3-1 win, Gutierriez got the save. Saturday night, it was Garcia's turn to grab the win thanks to excellent relief pitching late and a 3 run home run by Hagerty to tie the game at 4 and a solo shot by Dave DiNitale to win it in the bottom of the eight. Gutierriez again closed it out in the top of the 9th to give Miami a 6-4 win and clinch the series. Miami's next game is Sunday against Cinncinatti. Miami will try and get the sweep in the first series of the season.
